Dr. Amalfitano has dedicated his career to the minimally invasive treatment of Cardiac and Vascular disease. He is on staff with privileges to perform minimally invasive heart and vascular surgeries at McLaren Northern Michigan Hospital. He has been published in medical journals including “American Heart Journal,” “Journal of Cardiovascular
Pharmacology,” and “Chest”.
He was the key note speaker in Cantanzaro, Italy in 2001 and he continues to lecture regionally and nationally. He was chosen by a leading national laser company to teach other physicians the revolutionary laser vein procedure.
He performed the first non-surgical laser vein treatment in Traverse City in 2004, thereby, eliminating painful vein stripping operations. His innovative approach has brought vein treatments out of the hospital and into a state-of-the-art medical office. The Amalfi Vein Center is devoted to the full-time care and treatment of vein problems in a comfortable and safe environment.

Sherry has a decade of experience as a paramedic/flight nurse for North flight in Traverse City, followed by in hospital critical care for 15 years. Hospital settings included the Emergency Room, Interventional Radiology, Cardiac Catherization Lab Prep & Recovery, ICY, CCU, Cardiovascular Unit and step down units.
She has worked in the skin care and laser therapy fields since 2007, specializing in neuromuscular inhibitors, dermal fillers and sclerotherapy.
At Amalfi, Sherry loves that she can combine her extensive medical care background with her love of the esthetic field. She enjoys spending time with her patients and finds it gratifying to have them happy with their results.
Tammi has worked in the medical spa environment as a Licensed Aesthetician since 2007.
Followed by loyal clientelle since joining Amalfi in 2010, Tammi enjoys providing personalized care to meeting the needs of her clients.
Rachel, a native of northern Michigan, graduated from DePauw University in Indiana with a focus in communication studies and a degree in Musical Arts. After graduation, she went on to become a character performer at Walt Disney World in Orlando, FL. Subsequently, she moved to Ohio and worked for the Cincinnati Opera as an administrative assistant and teaching music in their childhood outreach program. While in Cincinnati she decided to combine her love of the Arts with her passion for the beauty industry and pursued Aesthetics training at the Aveda Institute.
Her artistic eye, vibrant personality and strong communication skills puts clients at ease as she helps them work toward their individual skin care goals. Along with her certification in Venus skin tightening, laser hair removal, intense pulsed light therapy and acne treatments, she gives medical grade and relaxing facials you’re sure to enjoy.
She lives in Traverse City with her husband where they enjoy the changing seasons with boating, hiking, and skiing activities. She also continues to sing and character perform (you might even catch a glimpse of her acting in plays at the local community theater).
